Latest Pick Up: Krispy Kreme

FullSizeRender-1I don’t normally get to enjoy Krispy Kreme doughnuts because they aren’t very many locations in New York. What I mean by that is there is only one location in the whole state. I haven’t posted about any local independent doughnut shops yet, but those post are coming.

I always have a tough time deciding what doughnuts to get because they all look so good! I instinctively got half a dozen original glazed, I mean they are Krispy Kreme’s after all. After those I got a chocolate cake, one of my favorites, chocolate glazed, one of my favorites, a sugar doughnut, one of my favorites, a creme filled, blueberry cake, and the specialty cookie dough doughnut.

They were all nothing short of amazing, but that creme filled one… Oh man.. Oh man.. that was some next level stuff right there! I warm up all my doughnuts in the microwave for 8 seconds and they come out amazingly soft and warm. This creme filled doughnut was melting in my mouth and was just so good and it may possibly be a new favorite. There really is no limit to how many favorite doughnuts you can have. That’s a rule, I just made it up.

I’ll be doing some research on local doughnut shops and bakeries to share with you all soon!

Thanks for reading!

P.S. If you decide on eating half a dozen doughnuts by yourself, I suggest doubling your water intake so you don’t OD on sugar..

  1. After reading this post, I can honestly say I not only want a donut or two.. but every donut you just listed. As a kid I used to go to Krispy Kreme every Sunday with my dad to get a dozen donuts for the family, and then all of a sudden, boom its closed. I am still bitter about the fact that Rochester, nor anywhere in a two hour radius of me has one. The boxed ones that Walmart sells just isn’t the same.

    Great post, thanks for sharing!

  2. I love your blog! It is such a fun topic. While I can’t say I am a huge doughnut fan (crazy, I know) I do enjoy Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I like what you wrote about heating them up, I used to do that as a kid. Good Stuff!

  4. I completely agree with aadin10, this is an awesome topic! And I definitely need more sugar in my life, even if it’s online, at the rate I’ve been going to the gym. I get to enjoy it vicariously now! – Lauren from Social Media

  5. Krispy Kreme hits a soft spot for many donut enthusiast. I remember when they first came out and had the iconic “red” button on the sign that would light up when fresh, out of the oven donuts came out of the oven. Every one you bought looks so satisfying to me, but your idea of putting them in the microwave for 8 seconds is a game changer.

  6. Krispy Kremes used to be all over the Buffalo area and then one day they just vanished. I really miss them. When they started selling them at Walmart, my room mate and I did the same thing with the microwaving. It was like traveling through time.
